Colin Ages Up

All too soon, Colin learned what he needed to learn and it was time for him to age up. He'd done his xylophone (music) training; he'd done his blocks (handiness) and had learned the three w's: walking, whizzing and whining. So he was all set to go onto his next stage in life which was going to school. Thank goodness: it was now the teacher's problem. Since Colin was a rather talkative kiddo, the teacher was going to have a great time getting him to shut up.

The party got off to a great start, there wasn't a whole bunch of people, just the immediate family and they all celebrated Colin's birthday in the afternoon when everyone got home from work and school and they were able to have a lot more time to unwind and relax.

When the candles were blown out, Colin was set on the kitchen floor and allowed to sit there for the time being while the transfiguration process took place (isn't Sims fun? Aging up is so unique for sims). Eventually Colin went from a babbling toddler to a rather laconic child.

Needless to say, he took a piece of his birthday cake and went to sit down. At least he was somewhat happy about aging up. It meant a little more independence and a lot more ability to go whereever he wanted (within reason).

Everybody was able to enjoy a bit of cake in celebration of Colin's birthday and they all sat down at the kitchen table to enjoy it. Which was a bit of a change from the usual eat whenever you want lifestyle which meant that there wasn't a whole lot of eating at the kitchen table together. Everyone had their own timetable and it meant that everyone ate when they were hungry and got busy doing things that they needed to do.

Haruo also took time to stock up the fridge with cooked food so that the family could come down when they liked and have leftovers ready to heat up and eat. It just made things a heck of a lot easier, as if you were in the middle of a task, you didn't have to break off and sit around waiting for dinner. Just eat when you like.

And as the sun set on Colin's birthday...the sky took on a rosy hue filled with the last warmth of the dying light.

Haruo was still busy stocking up the fridge with victuals. It was going to be quite the task, after all. And thank goodness for the Minus One Kelvin refridgerator as he was able to keep things indefinitely and create perfect portions when he cooked. It didn't hurt that he had the top of the line stove as well and those two appliances complemented each other in their ability to help the ex- Five Star Chef cook a perfect meal.

Well...Colin would now have his hands full keeping his grades up in school. Welcome to responsibilities, kiddo. Now you're gonna wish you stayed a toddler.
