Comings, Goings and Karina Becomes a Toddler

Fumiko's daughter got along with Karina...and well, it certainly was nice to see that. Eventually, Fumiko's daughter aged up into a child and well, she looked about as impressed as one could since the next day would be school. Not to mention the fact that she, Fumiko and Allan would end up moving out and back to their own home. Besides, it was necessary for them to be able to live their own lives (that's Watcher-speak for controlling too many sims will drive the Watcher completely insane.

It wasn't more than a few days later that Karina aged up from baby-burrito to crawling rug-rat. Haruo looked like he was shell-shocked to say the least. After all, being a grandfather at his age...well...it was bound to happen sooner or later. He just didn't expect it to be sooner. Well, such is life, Haruo. You don't get any younger, y'know.

As he stood in front of the cake...holding his son's baby daughter, the daughter of the heir, his mind slipped back to when he held his son for the very first time.

After all, Haruo remembered when River had taken care of Braden's feeding needs and the independence that Braden had shown as he'd gotten older. It just ultimately made Haruo feel very old.

...and he wondered just what life held in store for himself and River now...after all, his son was grown and a man.

His mind snapped back to the present when Haruo realized that Karina was squirming in his arms and he put her down on the floor.

...and not too long thereafter, Karina aged up into a speedy toddler. Since she wasn't interested in birthday cake yet, the rest of the family partook of the cake.

...and Karina made a bee-line for the toys.

Meanwhile...Masatoshi and Alanna were hanging out at the consignment shop with no kids to be seen anywhere. Considering Alanna had a toddler and yet another one was on the way, that concerned the Watcher immensely. So to the Chikamori house Kunio and Alanna went. So much for just having the heir and Brianna in the house...along with parents and grandparents. So in they went back home for just long enough for Alanna's and Kunio's toddler to age up.

They really gotta stop doing this. The kids need to fend for themselves and learn responsibility now that they're adults. I mean, really - they can't always expect a hand-out.
