Island Privacy and Snapping Crocodilians

Morning saw Haruo at the hospital/science center dropping off a crocodile...

...after making sure that all his limbs and other protrusions from his body were intact, that is. Isn't it so lucky that the hospital is right there right within the same building? If something gets detached courtesy of snapping jaws, it can get reattached quite expediently. You always have to look at the bright side of things.

After being reassured of the fact that he still had ten fingers, ten toes, two arms and two legs...as well as his cranial topping still attached to his torso and certain reproductive organs still attached to his lower half...he made his way to his Margeurite Vaguester and proceeded to sigh a big sigh of relief. At least Jaws had been dropped off; that ornery crocodilian had nearly cost him a few years of his life due to stress. Time to go home.

Yasunobu was reaching the latter part of his life (he had used up his entire elderly lifespan and was living day to day...) and he made the most of it. Mostly by doing trickshots at the pool table. Getting hit in the face with the cue-ball was probably not the best use of his time, but hey. He'd lived his life and if that's what he enjoys...all the more power to him.

Everyone found things to do...

Evidently, Cape Garner Island boasted its own herd of wild horses...

It was nice to know that Cape Garner was teeming with wildlife and it appeared as though there was more than enough wildlife sightings for people to enjoy it all.

Cape Garner Island was quite the interesting island; a part of the Queen Charlotte string of islands, it offered seclusion and a quiet place to bring up a family. River and Haruo had come a long way from Sunset Valley and this seemed to be a refuge; an oasis of privacy. The new house that they had build went a long way to providing that privacy.

...and while the kids cycled to and fro from school; the Chikamoris enjoyed privacy of a sort that they were never able to have in other places in which they had lived. People on Cape Garner had all come to this island for one main reason: they were private and they enjoyed their privacy; while respecting the privacy of others. Which meant that there was little if any gossip about other island residents. And life was good.

River enjoyed baking goodies for her grandchildren; like a plate of cookies, every so often. It was oftentimes...a enjoyable after-school snack.

One of the enjoyable things that Yasunobu was able to do was enjoy a driving range that Haruo set up in the backyard. Of course, it was aimed out towards the inlet, which meant that long drives ended up in the water unless you hooked it out of bounds, which would result in a hive of pissed off bees. Thank you very much, Braden, since he decided to buy three bee-boxes for honey. No bees tended to enjoy getting startled out of their hive by a loud smack of a Titleist against the side of their box and they have a unique way of showing their annoyance. Dang things hurt too.

Haruo on the other hand made use of the chin-up bar to tone that incredible physique of his. And give something for River to ogle.

Yasunobu started putting books away that were in his inventory and milked some cows.

While River checked on the weather that was upcoming. Since Cape Garner was on the windward side of Vancouver Island, it got any inclement weather first and if there was a windstorm coming, then poor Cape Garner got the full brunt of it; so checking the weather was a prudent thing to do.

Of course, River and Haruo always made time for each other...

...naturally...
