Sayonara Legacy Island; Hello Cape Garner

The Chikamoris counted down the days that it would take to sell their home in Legacy Island. They came to the realization that Legacy Island was a little too busy for them and they wanted a place where they could relax and enjoy their existence. And frankly, it was for the better that they moved and move they did, up the coast to a little place called Cape Garner Island.

Nestled in the Juan de Fuca strait, it offered a clear view of Vancouver Island and it was a slice of Canadian paradise.

The house that they moved into was relatively nice, but the layout was very cramped, but it would have to do for the time being (translation: still not feeling up to mucking about with build mode; will have to wait for when I'm not feeling like I'm about to hack up a lung on the table). Tatsuyoshi took advantage of the water slide and spent some time getting wet.

Karina talked about school and stuff with her grandmother. Poor River, barely halfway through their middle-age and she's being referred to as "Granma". That's quite a bit to take. And it seemed like yesterday when they had just graduated high-school. Poor River and Haruo.

The kitchen was nice and rather open...but not as open of a kitchen as Haruo was used to. It was also pretty spartan in comparison to the home that they had come from in Legacy Island, but well, one couldn't complain. At least the internet reception wasn't too bad on Cape Garner Island.

They had bought the home furnished and Yasunobu settled into an armchair to read a book. They knew that he didn't have much time. He was slowing down and spent a lot more time resting, though he did end up doing a lot of physical exercise. He was grim and determined to make the most of every single day allotted to him...and make the most of it he was doing.

The Chikamoris had settled themselves in amongst the citizens of Cape Garner Island. There hadn't been a whole lot of residents before the Chikamori/Wainright-Steel family moved in and well, pretty much, the entire island was taken up by that family.

The view towards the Pacific Ocean was gorgeous from where the Chikamori family was living.

...and River enjoyed the view; sitting down on one of the patio chairs reading a book.

...and looking northwest, there was a majestic waterfall draining into the Pacific Ocean.

Scanning one's eyes north-east across the vista, one could see a cabin directly across the Juan de Fuca strait looking towards Vancouver Island. After all; they were on one of the outer islands, with the panoramic Pacific Ocean to the west and Vancouver Island to the East.

Haruo set about to cooking dinner and making the most of the house that they were currently living in, at least until they were able to build another home; more suited to what they were used to. Haruo and River didn't like the tight cramped spaces and neither did Braden and Greta.

...but despite the cramped layout of the house; Haruo and River felt that they had made the right decision to move from Legacy Island. The pace here was noticeably slower and they were feeling even more relaxed now than they were before.

City life had never been appealing to Haruo or to River and they were small-town folk. Let the kids decide where they wanted to live when River and Haruo were gone. For now, the Chikamoris would live life the way that the Founder and Matriarch were wanting to.
