Taxes, Work and Bee-Stings

In the morning, River had a lot of things to do. Namely dropping off an ice-sculpture at the Bistro...in time for an executive luncheon. Needless to say, she got paid handsomely for it. And that was an extra 16,000 some-odd simoleons in the purse. The sculpture was beautiful enough that the office-workers who were coming in for the meeting oohed and ahhed over the sculpture and asked quite a few questions about how it was created.

Then River opted to go to the bookstore to fulfill her wish to learn some new music for a change...so that she could tackle that music achievement of learning all the pieces that she could possibly learn for piano. She should actually do the same for guitar too. But that's something to do for when she retires. Still a ways to go before that happens.

When she got home, she decided that she was going to take a bit of a music break and learn the pieces that she bought at the store. For some it would be a bit of a save-up for each piece, but well, when you're as rich as River and Haruo are, it's no big deal to swoop up all the pieces at one time.

...and then when she was done with the pieces, just so they didn't have to rebuy the music books, she shunted them off to hubby, who was pleased to get them second-hand from his dear wife.

...and River tried to learn a few potions, just for gits and shiggles.

(sings) NO Kabloomey...if you want to make a potion at the table...make sure that your solution is stable...No Kabloomey...

Yeah...she's had that problem before.

Yeah...probably not a good idea to mix volatile chemical A with volatile chemical B...at the potion table. Just who are the parents letting kids play with that table anyways?

Haruo on the other hand went out to play with bees.

Of course, when everyone was hungry they all congregated at the dinner table. There were plenty of games to play in the rec room.

Haruo came back from dropping off honey at the Elixir shop for consignment. Considering how irritable the bees were, the honey wasn't really anything to write home about.

...and then promptly got hit by a §26K tax bill when he got home. Don't ask if anything could get worse...if you do, it will...

His wife on the other hand enjoyed the pool table where she was practicing her pool-shark prowess and Braden was practicing piano; of course since he was an adult, it was for the love of playing music...and not because one's parents stood over you with a meter-stick to rap your knuckles.

Greta had to fend off an overzealous suitor. "My husband is a CF-18 Hornet fighter pilot and the 409 Squadron CO...so why should I be interested in dating YOU?" Oooh...burn.

Haruo after nearly suffering a coronary from the size of the tax bill decided to quell his heart-palpitations by going out and fishing. Anything to bring the blood pressure down. Just what the heck did his daughter-in-law pass in terms of fiscal budgetary requirements?

At least they were solvent as of yet, but if any more stuff was passed that cranked up the taxes even farther, there might have to be a nice quiet little father-daughter-in-law discussion as to where that money was coming from and maybe Braden might need to step in in terms of judicious reasoning with his wife.

Meanwhile in Downtown Cape Garner, evidently Shigeo Kanzaki decided that he was going to set up shop on a box and rant about everything, including Brianna and how she did him wrong. Luckily none of the family members who were around bothered listening to his rant.

Even Kaneoshi who had the inclination to usually heckle those who ranted, remained silent.

And...sunset fell on Cape Garner Island.

...as the kids headed home from their friend's place and with their homework done, set about to cause a major conflagration to their respective rooms by playing with incendiary chemicals.

Just the mere thought of their §1.5M home going up in flames caused Greta to go take a bath to unwind. "Don't play with explosives, kids! DO YOU HEAR ME!?"

"Yes, Mom!"

In the morning, since Braden was at work, Haruo went out to garden and got himself stung by bees again.

Yes, lots of fun to be had by all...

That'll take care of any dull aches and pains...just replace them with throbbing new ones.
