Aidan and Mara Tie The Knot

It never fails, no matter who the sire is, a Chikamori male always gets hooked, lined and sinkered when it comes to an attractive female and even though Aidan was the son of the late and lamented Molly French-Chikamori and Satoshi Chikamori, he was raised by his much older cousin, Haruo, and well, he was a Chikamori in blood. When they fell, they fell hard. and Aidan was no different. He was going to tell Mara that he loved her. No regrets about it. Alanna was no longer in the picture. She was yesterday's old news. Mara was his here and now.

Aidan gave Mara a bouquet of roses just as his surrogate mom (but cousin-in-law) River came downstairs to wait for her husband because they were taking over the pool-table and well...Mara really enjoyed that bouquet of roses.

Her reaction was definitely favourable to the continuation of their courting.

Yup, that boy was done, like a Christmas goose with a sprig of holly up the hoo-hah.

Deep down in his heart, Aidan knew that Mara was his one and only, his true other half and he wasn't about to let her go, considering her reaction to his advances which was more than favourable. The way that she had nestled into his arms made him feel as though he had come home to a tranquil harbour after being tossed on a stormy sea for weeks on end. And when he had knelt down on one knee and proposed marriage and eternal love to Mara, she reacted in such a way that it made River look over and smile in remembrance that she had felt the same way when Haruo had proposed to her so many year ago.

Ah, young love...she thought to herself as she looked over at the young lovers who were pretty much lost in each other's gaze.

Aidan and Mara had a private wedding with absolutely no fanfare as that was what they wanted. Since they had found each other, that was the only thing that was important; to get on with their lives and enjoy the time that they had with each other.

Aidan knew that there were two people whom he had to thank. The cousin who took him into his own family, raised him up like his own son, raised him up to be a man, all those years ago when he could have been shunted into a foster home - it was a debt that he couldn't repay. There wasn't the words that he could find. But all Haruo said, was, "You're a good kid, Aidan. Just do your best in life and make yourself a success, I'm proud of you..." The words came after those words that Haruo said to him, "Thanks...Dad..." Because Haruo was like a father to him.

Haruo and River (his surrogate dad and mom - and family) were his lifeline...and the ones that raised him up...and he was a better person for it.
