Braden Becomes a Young Adult

While Haruo and River were eating breakfast in the morning, they remembered just how young they were when they got engaged.

It was a faded distant memory, but River and Haruo remembered the feelings that went along with it...the sheer joy of knowing that they would link their lives together and that they knew that their kids were feeling the same kind of joy of being betrothed to one another; a solemn promise that they would stand together against all that the world could throw against them.

"We have done exactly that, haven't we?" River said to Haruo who nodded. "I love you so much..."

There were no words other than to gather River into his arms and kiss her.

Alanna sighed as she hoped, after seeing her brothers in loving relationships, that she, too, would have the opportunity to have someone just as loving, who cared for her as much as she hoped that she would care for him. Yes, guys, despite their nonchalant attitude of "not caring", well, we do...

The Chikamori family mansion was quite the home...with a golden Buddha in the backyard under what served as a family outdoor shrine. That raised a number of eyebrows from neighbours. The house was enormous. There were also two golden "shishi" (lions) at the front door. And of course the family bridge across the small lake that was a part of the property. Fish were definitely a great part of the Chikamori family home and you could find Braden out front fishing and Haruo's primary occupation was fishing.

Of course, now that Fumiko and Alan were engaged to be married, they couldn't keep their hands off each other either.

And soon enough it was time for Braden to celebrate his day and well, everyone gathered around the dining room table to celebrate his aging up to young adult. He aged up into a handsome and very muscular young man with more than just a little streak of his father in him.

In fact, in body mass, he was much bigger than his older brother who looked relatively miniscule next to him even though Alan had the body mass of a bodybuilder. Braden was simply put, massive. There wasn't anyone that was going to be picking on him any more.

...and well, with yet another child grown into young adulthood, River and Haruo both were starting to feel their age. Their children were growing up into their prime of life and well, all that Haruo and River could do was hope that they would fly. That their children would achieve the highest peaks of success in their lives

...and they went to bed in the secure knowledge that they had raised their children the best way that they knew how.
