Fiancees and Sibling Rivalry (Alan's Engagement)

Of course, once Braden and Greta were engaged, they couldn't keep their hands off each other. Though considering the fact that they were teens, they couldn't do much with the ever present eyes of Greta's mother and both of Braden's parents watching them like hawks. Poor Braden and Greta.

Of course, that didn't stop Haruo and River from behaving like newlyweds, even though they had been married for 35+ years by this time. The teens tended to roll their eyes at the affection shown by their parents...but well, they knew all too well that this was what kept a marriage strong (in more ways than one).

A strong, loving, supportive marriage was the glue that held a family together, because one's kids were able to learn from that about how one treats one's spouse and hopefully, that was a lesson that their kids would be able to take with them into their own marriages.

While his mother and father were out "hot-tubbing" ~evil grin~ Alan and Fumiko were downstairs playing a game of pool.

After all, what could be insinuated from an innocent game of pool, right?

Needless to say, Alan was kind of a bit perturbed that the engagement process didn't go from eldest to youngest as their births had and frankly, there had always been some rivalry between the two of them. And it was uncertain whether that rivalry would get heated once the kids knew who was going to inherit the family fortune. Alan realized that he found Fumiko rather attractive and she found him equally attractive.

After all, the Chikamoris and the Wakayamas had been long-time family friends from Haruo's great-grandfather's generation and it seemed that a merger of the two families had been in the cards for some time now.

However, it would be up to the children to prove that they were worthy of taking on the task of being heir to the family fortune. After all, Haruo and River had practically built it up from nothing and the children were to take it to heights never-before seen in Riverview. The goal was to become so rich that they were untouchable by Sim-World standard (of course billionaires were unable to be created as the wealth cap is §99,999,999. But at least they would reach that point at some point in the distant future. Considering that the Chikamori family's current wealth was §27M at this point, they were pretty much almost a third of the way there.

But no matter what, Alan wanted to marry for love and not "wealth" consolidation. The Wakayamas were not rich by any means and this was not meant to be a consolidation of wealth between the Wakayamas and the Chikamoris. If the Wakayama family needed help, the Chikamoris would provide it, but Japanese families preferred to stand on their own feet. A cry for financial help was considered loss of face.

Alan was his own man and intended to marry for love and well, it didn't matter that his family had known the Wakayamas for ages, all he saw in Fumiko was a young desireable woman who he felt an undeniable attraction towards. And well...why not?

Since they were both consenting adults...well...at least it was one thing that he and his betrothed could do that Braden couldn't since he was still a teen. So stick that in your craw and rotate. Braden. Alan thought to himself as he and Fumiko enjoyed each other's company.

Yep, sibling rivalry.
